Life, liberty, and the right to reproductive suppression

I once read somewhere that female animals stop breeding in harsh environments or limited resources (including suitable mates). It is known as “reproductive suppression” - revolution’s kind design for female self preservation and hopefully more successful reproduction once her situation improves.

Female Humans on the other hand, we got pretty screwed in this regard throughout the course of His-Story, including the present!

It almost feels like the harsher and more dangerous the environment, the more we are prodded to reproduce. For example, 1 in 3 female humans die from childbirth in medieval Europe due to unsanitary and unsafe medical practices. However, if you don’t take those chances, you risk being burned alive as a witch because that is what witches are - single and childless women.

Asia was worse! China in particular under the swindle of Confucious (dude even called himself CONFUSED!) categorized women and bad people in the same group claiming we don’t come pre-installed with the moral compasses (only found in men) so we must obey our fathers at home, husbands when we are married, and sons when the hubbies die.

To make matters worse, an emperor with foot fetishes started the trend of breaking little girls' feet and binding them to the average size of 3 inches so they can look oh so gracefully swaying like a willow tree on their tip toes for the rest of their lives. Thankfully this only lasted a whole millennia with the last shoe manufacturing factory closing shop in 1998. I don’t know, this sounds awfully like extreme and harsh conditions unsuitable for reproduction yet the alternative is even worse because an unmarried or divorced childless woman is often a dead one as she is forbidden to work and feed herself.

But we are in 2025 so things should be better, right?

The 4B movement in South Korea started for a multitude of sexist reasons but imploded when a young woman was murdered by a man who felt she “ignored” his advances. This plus having the widest gender pay gap in OECD nations rallied some South Korean women to form the 4B movement in which they swore off marriage, childbirth, dating and sex. A.K.A, they are exercising their biological, evolution given right to suppress reproduction in such hostile environments. But this resulted in a huge cultural backlash that ushered in South Korea’s equivalent of Trump on the backs of a campaign promising to abolish the country’s ministry of gender equality - it became officially dangerous to be feminist in South Korea.

But things are not that much better at home. Since the overturning of Roe V. Wade and Trump’s victory, things are feeling distinctly more hostile towards women and our freedom. It is becoming a worldwide phenomenon; Japan, Italy, South Korea, China, Romania, and more governments are whining about their dropping the birthrate and BLAMING the females.

But who’s truly addressing the real causes that make females all around the world curtailed their reproductive instincts? Maybe it's time to address about the hostile and toxic environments suppressing our reproductive instincts instead of badgering us for the lack of it.
